To quantify COVID-19’s negative influence on commercial air traffic, mba collects real-time flight data for about 27,000 active aircraft. For this analysis, we selected larger operators in each region based on total mainline fleet size. Our data illustrates the percentage of each operator’s fleet (active and stored aircraft) which have flown in the past seven days — albeit with each aircraft typically operating reduced frequencies. Capacity is not considered in this analysis. These statistics are available in the STAR Fleet database, accessible via subscription to mba’s REDBOOK fleet intelligence platform.
